Lydia Straznicky

I’m proud to be part of the dedicated team at Ottawa Cancer and Lymphatics Centre, where we empower individuals through every stage of cancer recovery, surgical rehabilitation, and lymphatic health. It’s a privilege to support patients as they work toward reclaiming comfort, confidence, and function in their bodies.

I hold a Master of Science in Physical Therapy from Queen’s University, where I also completed my undergraduate degree in Life Sciences. During my fifth and final clinical placement at OCLC, I discovered a strong passion for oncology and lymphatic rehabilitation. That experience deeply resonated with me, and I’ve been fortunate to continue working at OCLC ever since—an opportunity that has allowed me to grow both personally and professionally in a field I truly care about.

Since graduating, I’ve committed to expanding my clinical expertise through advanced education and specialized certifications. I completed my Contemporary Medical Acupuncture training at McMaster University (2021) and became a Certified Lymphedema Therapist through the Academy of Lymphatic Studies (2022). I’m also an ADP Authorizer for both Lymphedema Compression Therapy and Mobility Devices.

I’ve pursued further training in areas such as lipedema management, exercise prescription for oncology patients, and professional bra fitting—each piece contributing to the personalized, whole-person care I strive to provide. I’m passionate about lifelong learning and take pride in bringing evidence-based techniques and the latest clinical insights to every client interaction.

Outside of the clinic, I stay active through running, biking, strength training, and playing soccer, and I always make time for my friends, family, and spending time with my husband and dog Marco.
